We are delighted to welcome you to the University of Evansville and the New Student Orientation website.  We believe that our SOAR and STAR programs will facilitate a smooth transition both in and out of the classroom.  It is important to us that all UE students are given the right tools to begin their academic career. 

   SOAR - Summer Orientation and Academic Registration

SOAR begins the process of orientation for new incoming freshmen at the University of Evansville.  Each session includes course placement assessments, advising, and registration for fall classes.  Every new student must attend one session.  Parents are strongly encouraged to attend.  SOAR also includes the University's Parent Orientation Program. 

The SOAR program gives students and parents a special preview of the University community.  It also sets the tone of what we want entering students to do:  SOAR, achieve new heights and succeed.

   STAR - Student Transfer and Academic Registration

STAR is the University of Evansville’s orientation program for transfer students, re-entry students, and non-traditional students.  It is held during the summer and also at the beginning of the second semester in January.  Each session includes course placement assessments, advising, and registration for classes.  Every transfer student must attend STAR.  Parents are invited to attend the program if they wish. 

The STAR program also provides transfer students with sessions on campus life at the University of Evansville.  Transferring to a new institution does not have to be a difficult transition, and this program helps provide some insight into the University community you are joining.
